28th Annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry

March 16 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Taking the phrase “have a ball” to a whole new level – it’s the 28th annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry and St. Patrick’s Day celebration in historic Virginia City. Join daring revelers for a party that only the Comstock could throw. Sample tasty testes from cooks competing for the title of Best Rocky Mountain Oyster Cook in the West.

This full-on Irish testicle festival is the place to be for St. Patrick’s Day, complete with music and the most outlandish St. Patrick’s Day atmosphere found west of the Mississippi. Dress to impress in your St. Patty’s Day garb, walk in the parade, join the costume contest and get in on the Ballbreaker Saloon Crawl. Designated drivers will receive a special cup.

Or better yet, become a VIB’er – Very Important Baller and get front of the line access, a medallion noting your baller status and other perks.

Cooks prepare these delectable concoctions in a way that will make you forget what you’re really eating. Taste them grilled, smoked, fried or even in a taco, or, go balls out and try them all. You can even sign up to cook up a tasty teste batch! This year, the prize purse is bigger. Come on, we’ve got the balls, do you? Register as a cook by filling out the Cooks Application.

Wash down those tasty testes with a refreshing beverage as part of the Ball Breaker Saloon Crawl. Your cup grants you one free beer and a variety of samples at Virginia City’s participating historic saloons. All crawl participants receive discounts on full specialty drink orders. Designated drivers will receive a special cup and designation.
